On Thursday, Feld Motor Sports, Inc. and MX Sports Pro Racing, Inc. revealed the 2025 calendars for both the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship and the Pro Motocross Championship, authorized by AMA Pro Racing.
The SuperMotocross World Championship Series encompasses both indoor and outdoor events, featuring a total of 17 Supercross races alongside 11 Pro Motocross races. This creates a robust schedule of 28 regular season rounds, all leading up to the postseason culminating in the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship Finals, powered by Monster Energy.
The 17 rounds of the 2025 AMA Supercross season will take place in 16 different venues in 13 states, ranging from Alabama and Pennsylvania to California and Arizona. The SMX League wants to increase the sport's appeal in the Northeast, which is why this tour features four events there.
The inaugural round of the 2025 Supercross season is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, at Angel Stadium in Southern California. This arena and the surrounding city have formed a notable bond with the start of the Supercross season, hosting 33 opening events—outpacing all other venues in the sport.
After a visit to Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on Saturday, January 18, the second visit to Angel Stadium is planned for Saturday, January 25. On Saturday, February 1, the first leg of the West Coast tour will come to a finish at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The Supercross will return in Tampa at Raymond James Stadium on February 8, in Ford Field Detroit on February 15, and finally at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on February 22. The spectators are expected to enjoy the 55th annual Daytona supercross event scheduled to take place at the Daytona International Speedway on March 1, 2025.
Next, supercross round 9 will occur at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 8, after which the series will continue at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama, on March 22, and Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington, on March 29.
In April, the Northeast will host a cluster of events beginning with a trip to the home of the Patriots, Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Saturday, April 5. Dates for Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, April 12, and MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Saturday, April 19, will follow this. The tour will wrap up with what promises to be an exciting homecoming at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA, on Saturday, April 26.
The sport attracts a decent local following, but Pittsburgh has only hosted Supercross on two occasions—both more than 40 years ago, in 1978, and again, in 1983.
So theme of Supercross Champion crowned again in Utah will wrap up the Supercross season on Saturday, 10 May, at Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City.
Following a week-long hiatus, the focus will shift to outdoor summer events, with the Pro Motocross Championship beginning its 54th season of racing for the second half of the SMX regular series. The 11-race series will take place in the sport's most iconic settings, spanning ten different states and popular areas, including Southern California and the Pacific Northwest, New England and the Appalachian region, the Rocky Mountains, and the Great Lakes.
The 2025 Pro Motocross season begins on May 24 at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. The season finale will be held on August 23rd at Budds Creek Motocross Park rather than Ironman Raceway. Ironman National will relocate from their original location to the final phase of the event.
